Frequently asked questions

How long is a session, and what does it cost?

There are three lengths: 15, 30 and 60 minutes. For private clients, these packages cost 89, 249 and 499 euros. Which length suits you depends on how many outfits and image variants you need. Every package includes the consultation before the session, the outfit check, guidance while posing, choosing the pictures at the screen and retouching of the images you select.

What happens during a session at GKN Portraits?

There is a consultation before the session, and an outfit check once you are at the studio. While the pictures are being taken you are guided through it, so you do not need to know in advance how to stand or where to look. Afterwards we go through the shots together at the screen and you make your selection. The pictures you choose are then retouched. The studio is at Riegeler Str. 2 in Freiburg.

Who chooses the pictures, and when do I get them?

You choose them yourself, and you do it while you are still at the session. We go through the shots together at the screen and you decide which of them are taken further. Those pictures are retouched, and retouching is included in every package. Finished images arrive digitally, on request as express within two hours.

Can I cancel or reschedule a booked session?

Yes. Sessions are booked online, and you then receive a confirmation by email. That email contains a link you can use to cancel or reschedule. Do keep the confirmation for that reason. If you cannot find the email, check your spam folder first; it sometimes ends up there.

How and when do I pay?

Payment is made in person at the studio. There is no online payment when you book, so you pay only once you are there. For private clients, the packages cost 89 euros for 15 minutes, 249 euros for 30 minutes and 499 euros for 60 minutes. GKN Portraits is a small business under Paragraf 19 UStG (the German small-business rule in the VAT act), so no VAT is shown.

Do you take passport photos for ID cards and passports?

No. Our photos are application photos, not official biometric passport photos. For ID cards, passports and residence permits, German authorities now accept photos only via the digital route they prescribe, and we are not connected to it. Please ask your authority where to have the photo taken.
